Peppers given franchise tag
Julius Peppers was slapped with the franchise player tag by Carolina, making it more difficult for the star defensive end to get his wish and leave the Panthers.
The tag was applied after the Panthers agreed on a new contract with left tackle Jordan Gross .
That cleared the way for Carolina to use the team's only franchise tag on Peppers, who had 14 1/2 sacks last season but expressed his desire to leave the Panthers and their 4-3 scheme for a team that plays a 3-4 defense.
In addition to Peppers, among those tagged Thursday were cornerback Dunta Robinson of Houston; tight end Bo Scaife of Tennessee; linebacker Leroy Hill of Seattle; and offensive tackle Max Starks of Pittsburgh.

What is the order of "coaching" in Baseball when the coach gets ejected from the game?

I'll use the Yankees as an example, don't read into it. Say Torre gets ejected, the bench coach Mattingly usually takes over coaching for the rest of the game. Now, what happens if Mattingly gets himself ejected? Do they go to the First base coach or batting coach and how far down the line does it go? With Jeter being the team captain, is it feasible he could coach for the rest of the game if all the coaches were ejected? I doubt there's a rule or order, but someone with more baseball knowledge Im sure has some answers.
Your bench coach steps up to be manager first. If he also gets ejected then your first base coach is now manager, third base coach is now first base coach, and batting coach in now third base coach. If in fact that the now "acting" first base coach also gets ejected - then the only thing I have to say is that someone should check with the empires - cuz they'er doing something majorly wrong!!! The only thing that I am sure of is that no player can "act" as a coach of any sort in any game unless he is NOT in that games' lineup. He cannot field or bat that game.

For example, Bill Cowher was a superbowl head coach in Superbowl XXX and also in Superbowl XL. That is a drought of 10 years. Has there been any head coach that has a longer drought than Bill?
It doesn't matter if they won it either.

Well as most people so often do I have been chosen to coach a youth baseball team. Im excited to coach but have never coached I have played many sports in my life and just want some advise from people on how to coach and how teach young kids the game of baseball. The kids I will be coaching are six and seven years old. Any advice would be great i want to know what kind of drills and practices I should set up, and what way i can make it loads of fun for these kids.
besides the usual keep it simple aspect ,two important things are: let the parents know that this is a game and in games you have fun so unless you ask for their advice or to help, you would appreciate it if they would allow you to decide how to coach. When I coached ( girl's fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball,girl's flag football, boys football and both girls and boys basketball) over a number of years i tried to have no parents at practice. And the most important thing is to make sure the kids understand that they are playing a game and right now they should have fun with it
